Hello 2018!

It’s a New Year! And like every New year, comes this feeling of a new beginning, a fresh start, a new opportunity, a new hope.

While some choose to see January as just another month, it’s wise to indeed mark it and number it.

The Bible teaches the wisdom in numbering ones days..

Psalm 90:12 KJVS

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

To number one’s days is to pay attention to the procession of time. This helps you to be wise and prevents you from living like a dead fish subject to river currents. So, let no man begrudge you for celebrating a New Year..or for not celebrating it.

Romans 14:5-6 KJVS

One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike . Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. [6] He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it . He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

To folks like me who like to mark a new year, Happy New Year to you. Truly, it’s by the grace of God that we are alive, and by His power that we can count another year in our lives. Times like this make us reflect on and think about our purpose as sons of God.

In the writing of our new year resolutions, it will not be smart to ignore our resolutions to the faith, and to the call which we have answered.

I’ve had a fair share of failed resolutions in the past. So much so, that I decided to stop deceiving myself with New Year resolutions, as it always ended up like a tireless battle till the resolution is broken and I plunged into a free fall.

Have you noticed how once we break a new year resolution, we find ourselves breaking it much easily afterwards?..haha.. This reminds me of a Bible verse..

Isaiah 40:30 KJVS

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

So often times, our resolutions are an exercise of wills, which more often than not, is bound to grow weary and fail. But there is strength in Christ!

He is our strength, our shield, our refuge – He renews our strength with each waking morning. He is the source of our joy, our victory, our peace, our wisdom. He is everything that is good to us. Father, brother, friend, teacher, pastor, saviour, advocate.

All we are, is of Him. All we have, is from Him and all we do is by Him.

If this is the case, the best New Year resolution will be to decide in our hearts to keep looking more than ever before to this man – Jesus!

We resolve to walk with Him

We resolve to talk with Him

We resolve to remain steadfast, beholding Him

We resolve to obey His word

We resolve to commit to His work
We resolve to be given to a wholesome love walk

We resolve to give to and for others

We resolve to reach out to the unsaved

We resolve to pray for the unsaved

We resolve to preach, teach and declare the word

We resolve to be committed to the Charismatic ministry of Christ, to heal the sick, raise the dead, work miracles.

We resolve to be dedicated in our local Church

We resolve to interceed for ministries, missionaries, pastors, evangelists.

We resolve to walk in the light of the word, in the Lordship of Christ! The love of God and the fellowship of the Spirit!

Have a blessed 2018 folks!!
